Shocking images of a violent brawl between families visiting a Chinese zoo have been shared online.
The trivial argument between two visitors on Sunday (local time) led to an all-out brawl involving at least six people, including a woman holding a young boy, Beijing Wildlife Park said in a statement.
Video of the incident, which occurred in the gorilla area, went viral after it was posted on social media site Weibo.
The woman holding the toddler can be seen repeatedly kicking another woman as she tries to push a third woman to the ground.
Two men are fighting in the background as a circle of others try to separate from each other.
At one point, the woman with the child grabs a handful of hair from another woman, prompting a man to charge and throw her to the ground.
Passers-by, including young children, watch the fight in horror.
Beijing Wildlife Park said security guards managed to end the brawl.
“They yelled at each other, tore each other apart and many tourists and animals were watching. The two sides came to an agreement after mediation,” the park authority said on WeChat, the Global Times reported.
The animals try to copy the human fight scene
The park said some animals had never witnessed a fight between humans and “followed suit” later that night.
“Under the patient education of the guardian, [we believe] the animals knew fighting was not good, ”the park said, the publication reported.
Shocked viewers said on Twitter that footage of the fight was “pretty gruesome to watch.”
“It was a mix between what was more unexpected, the woman kicking the other woman and pulling her hair out while holding a baby, or the man who kicked the woman jumped. holding the baby, ”one woman said.
“I don’t know who is learning from whom,” wrote another person.
